The world’s first digital rangefinder, this camera was produced as a joint venture by Seiko-Epson and Cosina, and the sensor, unlike any of the other cameras that we offer, was a CCD made by Sony. The same sensor was used in the Nikon D100 and the Pentax *ist series. This camera is for purist. People who aren’t concerned with how tech-capable their camera is, and those who really enjoy a minimal setup when shooting. Everything on the camera serves a purpose. This is for all intents and purposes a mechanical/analog camera that has simply been fitted with a digital sensor. The lever (unlike the lever on the Leica M10-D) is actually the advance lever for the camera’s focal-plane shutter. The limitations that this camera presents you (the small, slow LCD screen and the relatively low file storage capabilities) are great for those who are wanting to learn the basics of photography without the cost of shooting on film. Excellent, and still unmatched piece of equipment in the camera world.
