Rare equipment, and an appreciation for the image.
CCD Cine 16 is a resource for creatives. We have the equipment that you need to bring your vision into reality. We specialize in equipment that is hard to come by, and delivers a look that is equally rare, especially if you are looking to rent a camera with a CCD sensor, or one that is close to the 16mm format.
Our selection is very diverse, and we are continuously adding on to it, so check back regularly to see what’s new. Also, we hope to share the work of those who have rented our equipment here on our site, and on other social media platforms, so if you are looking for inspiration, you can check out our blog for videos from our clients, and test videos that we shoot to show you how some of our equipment handles.
Featured Services
As some of our cameras are quite rare, the process for “developing” the footage can sometimes be quite difficult. This especially applies to the Digital Bolex D16, and the Ikonoskop, both of which exclusively shoot RAW Cinema DNG files, and no other formats. The Ikonoskop in particular can present a challenge as it also shoots on proprietary memory cards that require a reader to offload.
Thus we offer RAW file “development” services to our clients, where we can deliver the files to you in whatever format you would like. We can also develop the footage in your program of choosing. Similar to the way different film labs can affect the look of your film, different programs all have different ways of interpreting the RAW footage from these cameras, delivering slightly different looks between them. If you would like us to develop your RAW files for you, then you can choose between the options detailed below when checking out, or just let us know after you’ve rented your camera.
We also offer other services for those within the Tokyo area, like same-day delivery (depending on the time of day you rent the camera), lower rates for long-term rentals, and even leasing options for some of our equipment. See below for more details.
